Your Orb is designed to connect quickly and easily. If the Orb requires a bit of help, this guide walks you through everything you need to connect it successfully.
Before You Begin
Ensure that the network details for a new connection are entered according to these guidelines:
Network name (SSID): Enter it exactly as it appears.
Password: Use letters and numbers only.
Security: Select WPA2.
⚠️ Important:
The Orb cannot connect to public or open WiFi networks (for example, networks that ask you to log in, accept terms, or complete extra steps).
Network Connection Steps
1. Create a valid WiFi QR code
Use your Orb App to create a WiFi QR code without issues.
From the Home page, tap Devices.
Tap the device that needs to connect to the internet.
Select Network.
-
The Network settings page will load. Proceed as follows:
For existing active connections: Tap the connection to open its details, then select Get Wi-Fi QR code to generate it.
To add a new connection: Tap Add new to add new WiFi or cellular network details, then generate the QR code.
2. Scan the QR code with your Orb
When the Orb shows “Please present the WiFi QR code”:
Hold the QR code in front of the Orb’s camera.
Wait a few seconds while it reads the code.
The Orb will connect automatically once the QR is recognised.
If the Orb doesn’t connect straight away, try generating a new QR code and scanning it again.
How do I know if my network is good enough?
A stable connection with low congestion is key for smooth Orb verifications.
Download Speed: 20 Mbps
Upload Speed: 10 Mbps
PCP Upload Speed: 5 Mbps
Latency: under 100 ms
Tip: In the Orb App, you can view WiFi/Cellular indicators and run a speed test similar to the ones on your phone.
How to Run a Network Speed Test
From your Orb App:
Open Locations.
Select the connected Orb.
Tap Network → Do a speed check.
Run the test.
Quick Fixes if the Orb Won’t Connect
Here are simple steps that resolve most issues:
1. Check the QR code
Make sure the SSID and password match exactly.
Generate a new QR code if necessary.
2. Try using a mobile hotspot
This helps you determine whether the issue is with the local WiFi or the Orb.
3. Move to an area with better signal
Being closer to a window helps both WiFi and LTE coverage.
4. Use only one Orb per hotspot
Sharing a hotspot across Orbs reduces speed and increases latency, which can cause verification errors.
5. Restart the Orb
Sometimes it just needs to save the network and reboot.
Switch your Orb to a Different WiFi network (WiFi Reset)
If your Orb is already online and you need to update the network:
Power on the Orb and wait until it’s ready.
Instead of the usual QR code, show the WiFi Reset QR code.
The Orb will clear the previous network so you can scan a new one.
Still can’t connect?
If the Orb keeps rejecting the QR code or cannot get online after several tries:
👉 Reach out to our Support team.
They can check whether it’s a software issue, a signal problem, or something else that needs further guidance.
